I've used a lot of bridges over the years and the Dark Star is a huge step forward. The volume is also impressive. However, I felt that the banjo's tone and volume could use a bit of a tweak, so after many recommendations I opted for Bart's bridge. Sound is always so subjective but if your looking for a new bridge, I can only say it improved my tone enough that I was impressed with it. WellI was pleasantly surprised. Great tone, volume, and sustain. Same for all strings. He made no promises or sales pitches, just a simple "try it out and see what you think". Without any problem, he said send it back and it was replaced with what he described as what many Bluegrass players use to just mellow the tone a little, so about a 1.5 on a scale of ten. Different bridges and different banjos all respond and interact differently and what works on one rig might not work on another..but for sure this bridge is staying on this banjo.
